Our Story
For years I had waited for swimsuit manufactures to create a swimsuit that was modest and sporty in its cut and coverage, but still stylish. I finally got tired of waiting, and thought why not try and do it myself. It had been 10 years since I had worked full-time in the retail business, so I wasn't quite sure where to start and what exactly I needed to do to make this dream happen. But being a mom of four, at the time, I had learned to rely on common sense and figured that was the best place to start. With a lot of questions, a little trial and error, and a lot of inspiration, 'Ohana Swimwear™, LLC was born.
My family is the most important thing in my life (five kids keep you busy). I wanted to give my company a name that would remind me to remain focused on my priorities. But "Family Swimwear" didn't have the right island feel I wanted. The word 'Ohana means family in Hawiian. 'Ohana Swimwear was the perfect name!
Summer 2003 was our debut line. We offered four completely different looks for women. We designed each suit in 4 sizes. Our plans were to expand the line to include more women's styles, plus sizes, petite's, junior's, and little girls. Thinking we would eventually finish out the family line with men and boys. Over the past 6 years we have expanded our line to include styles for everyone in the family. Every year we plan on adding more colors, prints and styles for the whole family.
'Ohana Swimwear is still a small family company, but we have big ideas. We want to offer quality products at the best price possible. You will never find us using cheap material in any of our products.
